Okay guys, this may come across as unecessarily snarky, but I just have to say it:
At the end of the day I'm going to remove the people from my friendslist (or stick them in a friendsfilter I never check) that fill 80% of their LJ with LoudTwitter. I am *on* Twitter, so it is basically double posting. If I wasn't on Twitter, I'd find it just as annoying because Twitter is so flighty and such a jumble of half conversations... I'm interested in what goes on with you as a person, not what you twittered to Stephen Fry. ;)
By all means, do what you like with your LJ, but don't expect me to stick around for it :)
Well too bad....
But you are right, I have the right to do with my LJ as I please, but you also have the right to follow what you want.
I do find it a bit double though.... it makes me kind of sad losing friends over something silly as loud twitter.
Ive never understood the loudtwitter appeal. I have a twitter too and if I ever feel that I say something worth repeating or preserving I do so by making a post here, and then I end up deciding that I can expand on it and not limit myself to 150 characters or whatever to make a complete thought which makes it more useful.
Technically, you can add a little code snippet into the LiveJournal Custom CSS code for your Friends View that will suppress everything that's shipped from LoudTwitter, if you don't want to defriend people from LJ.
Just thought I'd share since I came across it a while back and thought it might be useful for you. :)
I like it when people use Loudtwitter to post their tweets to LJ, that is, if they let it put all the tweets of a day in a single post. That makes it easy to see what is going on with a person on a single spot. I'm not a fan of having to take a new subscription to social-site-of-the-week every time a new fad comes up in order to keep up with people. At least Loudtwitter lets you combine the old with the new.
